And this spring, according to plans, the dream became a reality. Approaching Edmonds Gregg and Cindy’s “Rincon” slows to let the ferry Puyallup pass on it’s way to Kingston. The weather was cooperating and we were able to run out of Admiralty Inlet and across the Straight of Juan de Fuca to Mackaye Harbor on the south end of Lopez Island. The following morning's sunrise was beautiful with calm seas once again. After a busy second day clearing Canadian Customs in Sidney we traveled well into the Gulf Islands to spend the night in Montague Harbor State Park. The weather, while not exactly warm, remained calm. The sea conditions allowed us to move a great distance, crossing the Straight of Georgia for a two-day stop in Pender Harbor on British Columbia’s “Sunshine Coast.”

Leaving Pender Harbor our luck with the weather seems to have expired. It’s windy and rough so we’re glad we’re not going farther north through much more open seas. The skies are still blue but that too will change. Inside Agamemnon Channel Sea Venture passes a BC Ferry as we enter Jervis Inlet. The squall was small (fortunately) and fast moving. We clocked a gust at 30 knots as we approached. (~33mph) The storm passed quickly and we entered Princess Louisa Inlet where we’ve been for several days. It has remained calm and clear leaving the inlet glass smooth. This is truly a magnificent place.
